Lore & Background

Rei Ayanami is introduced as the pilot of Evangelion Unit-00, serving under Commander Gendo Ikari. She initially shows emotion only toward Gendo, and is described as intimidating and ruthless in her commitment to destroying the Angels. Over the course of the game, which spans approximately one year and includes the events of the entire anime series as well as the movie *The End of Evangelion*, the player can direct Rei to have multiple scenarios in the ending. These include becoming a violinist, S&M queen, policewoman, or maid. Rei can also have an ending where she forms a relationship with the player character or Shinji.

In Their Own Story

The Lieutenant, a NERV officer assigned by Gendo Ikari to care for Rei, meets her upon arriving in Tokyo-3. He is charged with deciding her weekly schedule, balancing between education, duties at NERV, and leisure. Over the year, Rei's personality and attitude shift based on the player's decisions. Should Rei develop romantic feelings for the Lieutenant, Maya Ibuki expresses shock and horror, possibly due to the rather large age difference. The game includes the possibility of Rei marrying the player.

Reader's Guide

Rei Ayanami is the central character of *Ayanami Raising Project*. The player takes on the role of a NERV officer (referred to as 'Sanii' or Lieutenant) who must manage Rei's weekly schedule across education, NERV duties, and leisure. The game spans one year and covers the events of the entire anime and *The End of Evangelion*. Rei can achieve multiple endings, including becoming a violinist, S&M queen, policewoman, or maid, or forming a relationship with the player or Shinji. Depending on how well Rei performs, the Lieutenant may be promoted to Captain, though the player is still referred to as Sanii.
